Which steroid treatment should I choose? Oral or injectable?

Those who practice bodybuilding and who have, at some point, wanted to give their body a little boost with a course of steroids, have inevitably faced this kind of question:

  • Which is the wisest choice between a course of treatment and oral steroids and a course of injectable steroids ?
  • How to choose the best treatment?
  • Which method proves to be the most effective?
  • Which one has fewer side effects for my body?

Prospective users of anabolic steroids even share their concerns on forums, hoping to gain clarity on the difference between oral and injectable steroids and finally be able to make a fully informed choice.

So today, we've decided to guide you in your choice by shedding light on the misconceptions surrounding oral and injectable steroids. We'll explore why there are two forms of steroids, their respective advantages and disadvantages, and finally, which method is best for you to achieve your goals.

Discovery of oral steroids:

Oral steroids are primarily marketed in the form of tablets. But we can also find them in the form of capsules.

The most popular ones are the following:

  • L'’Anavar for a good power take-off

  • The Clenbuterol and the T3 Cytomel for the realization of’a dry or weight loss. It should be noted, however, that Clenbuterol and T3 Cytomel, although often classified as anabolic steroids, are not. Indeed, Clenbuterol is a bronchodilator and T3 Cytomel is a... thyroid hormone.

The main advantage of oral steroids lies in the fact that they produce results quickly, over a short period.. Furthermore, the oral form remains much more affordable for a first cycle. Indeed, it's not always easy to know how to perform an injection correctly. Some people are even reluctant to give themselves injections. The oral form therefore offers an alternative for those who aren't yet ready to switch to injectable steroids.

Regarding a cutting treatment, in 90% cases, the products offered will be in oral form.

Another distinctive feature ofOral steroids: they can be perfectly combined with injectable steroids, during a treatment, to increase the effects of the treatment.

However, some steroid users will refuse the oral form since its main drawback lies in its liver toxicity. Indeed, oral steroids will be ingested by the liver, thus causing more or less significant damage to the organ. Therefore, any course of oral steroids must be accompanied by liver protection. The most effective and popular liver protectant today is the Samarin. It should be taken three times a day, one capsule per dose, for the entire duration of the treatment.

Oral steroids have some side effects. During your course of treatment, you may experience some headaches and significant bloating. Your blood pressure may rise slightly during the first few days.

Oral steroid treatment remains ideal for beginners, who are reluctant to use injections..

Getting familiar with injectable steroids

Injectable steroids are sold either in small vials or in ampoules. They must be injected into the muscles, which requires knowing how to perform an intramuscular injection.

Among the best known are:

  • For a cutting phase or weight loss: Masteron

The injectable form of steroids allows results to be obtained over a longer period than the oral form. With injectable steroids, muscle gains are less spectacular, but of better quality and more durable.

The second advantage of injectable steroids lies in the fact that they pass directly into the muscle and not through the liver. Thus, The liver is not at risk of injury.

It is also possible to combine several esters, during a course of treatment, in order to obtain results that are both rapid and long-lasting.

Its main drawback is obviously that you need to be comfortable with injections and know how to administer them.

How to perform a steroid injection?

To perform your steroid injection under the best conditions, here is a fairly simple protocol:

  • Take a shower before handling the product.
  • Disinfect the injection area with a cotton ball soaked in 90% alcohol.
  • Disinfect the rubber stopper of the vial containing the product with another cotton ball soaked in alcohol.
  • Equip yourself with a syringe 22 or 23 caliber (best caliber for deep penetration, down to the muscle).
  • Inject a small amount of air into the syringe and then insert this air into the vial. The introduction of air will facilitate the absorption of the oil-based product.
  • Draw up the product with the syringe, according to the recommended quantity, while holding the vial upside down.
  • Remove air bubbles by tapping the end of the needle.
  • Change the needle for the injection into the muscle. Caution: this new needle must not be handled with fingers to maintain the sterility of 100%.
  • Using your other hand, stretch the skin of the area to be injected (gluteal muscle, deltoid or quadriceps).
  • Insert the needle deeply into the muscle.

Apart from an initial course of treatment which is often administered orally, Bodybuilding professionals will typically start with oral steroids to achieve rapid results and then move on to injectables to consolidate gains and improve their quality.

It should be noted, however, that some molecules will only appear in one form and not another.
