Boldenone undecylenate is an injectable veterinary steroid. It is a derivative of testosterone, exhibiting strong anabolic and moderately androgenic properties. The undecylenate ester significantly prolongs the drug's activity (the undecylenate ester is only one carbon atom longer than the decanoate ester), so clinical injections must be repeated every three to four weeks. In veterinary medicine, Equipoise is primarily used in horses, exhibiting a pronounced effect on lean body weight, appetite, and the animal's overall disposition. As with all steroids, this compound shows a marked ability to increase red blood cell production. In recent years, this compound has become a favorite among athletes. Many consider it an ideal substitute for Deca-Durabolin. Equipoise is not a rapid mass builder, but it will provide a slow but steady gain in strength and quality muscle mass. The most positive effects of this drug are observed when used for longer cycles, usually lasting at least 10 weeks. The muscle gained should not be the smooth volume seen with androgens, but rather a very defined and solid appearance.

Side effects

The side effects of Equipoise are generally mild. The boldenone structure allows it to convert to estrogen, but it doesn't have an extremely high affinity for doing so. Aromatization studies suggest its estrogen conversion rate is about half that of testosterone. Water retention with this drug would therefore be slightly higher than with Deca-Durabolin (with an estimated conversion of 20%), but much less than what we might experience with a compound stronger than testosterone. While there's always a possibility of experiencing estrogen-related side effects when using Equipoise, problems are generally not encountered at moderate dosage levels. Gynecomastia can become an issue, but usually only in highly sensitive individuals or those using higher doses. If estrogenic effects do become a problem, adding Nolvadex should, of course, make the cycle more tolerable. An aromatase inhibitor such as Arimidex, Femara, or Amonasin would be a stronger option, but probably not necessary with such a mild drug.

Dosage and Administration

To maintain stable blood levels, Equipoise must be injected at least once a week. It is most commonly used at a dose of 400-600 mg per week for men and 50-150 mg per week for women.
