Arimidex oral tablets contain 1 mg of anastrozole (a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor). It is an anti-cancer drug used for the initial treatment of breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Most breast cancers depend on the hormone estrogen for their growth. After menopause, estrogen production in the ovaries ceases, but it continues in the body's fatty tissues.
