Toremifene is used in postmenopausal women to treat breast cancer. It is generally used to treat cancers that require estrogen, a female hormone, to grow (estrogen receptor-positive). Toremifene is a nonsteroidal anti-estrogen that blocks the effects of estrogen in breast tissue, thus slowing or stopping cancer growth.
