Description
For adults, the daily dose is 20-40 mg (once daily). In some patients, a blood pressure-lowering effect can be achieved with a dose of 20 mg/day. If necessary, the dose can be increased up to 80 mg/day.
In patients with impaired renal function, as well as in elderly patients, it is not necessary to adjust the dose.
For patients with impaired liver function, the recommended daily dose is 40 mg.
The dosages for athletes are the same – a single daily dose of 20 to 40 mg to reduce the risk of atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, and/or stroke in bodybuilders using steroids and suffering from prehypertension. This may also lead to improvements in HDL cholesterol levels, insulin sensitivity, mitochondrial activity, endothelial function, and cognitive function.
