Description
Aromasin, also known as Aromed or Exemestane, is indicated for the adjuvant treatment of early-stage invasive breast cancer expressing estrogen receptors in postmenopausal women following 2 to 3 years of initial adjuvant tamoxifen therapy. Aromasin is also indicated for the treatment of advanced breast cancer in women who have undergone natural or artificial menopause after failure of antiestrogen therapy.
In patients with early-stage breast cancer, Aromasin treatment should be continued for a total of five years of sequential adjuvant hormone therapy (tamoxifen followed by Aromasin). It will be discontinued in the event of tumor recurrence.
