Bacteriostatic water for injection of peptides and growth hormone. Sterile, pyrogen-free water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which is added as a bacteriostatic preservative. Unlike ordinary sterile water, bacteriostatic preservatives can keep the dissolved peptides stable for an extended period.
The container can be reintroduced several times (most often through a sterile needle) and benzyl alcohol inhibits or stops the growth of most potentially contaminating bacteria.
